Mexican Soldiers Make Another Incursion onto American Soil, Scuffle With Border Patrol

Mexican military personnel have made an 'incursion' into U.S. territory, according to an American border official.

Multiple members of the Mexican military crossed into the U.S. in the El Paso sector of western Texas at around 6.15pm ET on Tuesday, said National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd on Fox Business Network's Lou Dobbs Tonight.

'We had several Mexican military personnel cross the Rio Grande river and come up to our fence, which is about 200 yards north into the United States,' Judd said.

He said that a Border Patrol agent responded, and that most of the Mexican soldiers scattered and fled back across the border.

One Mexican soldier did not make it back, and was confronted by the Border Patrol agent, Judd said.

He said there was a 'minor scuffle' after which the Mexican soldier fled back across the border into Mexico.

Judd said he didn't believe the Mexican soldiers were armed, and speculated that they might have just been 'looking around.'

A spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection told DailyMail.com that he did not immediately have further information on the incident.

It follows an incident near Clint, Texas in April in which armed Mexican soldiers confronted U.S. National Guardsmen on U.S. soil.

In that incident, the Mexican soldiers apparently believed they were in Mexican territory and disarmed the Guardsmen.

'After a brief discussion between the soldiers from the two nations, the Mexican military members departed the area,' U.S. Northern Command said in a statement about the April incident at the time.

'The U.S. soldiers immediately contacted CBP, who responded quickly. Throughout the incident, the U.S. soldiers followed all established procedures and protocols.'
