Houston's Anti-Gun Acevedo Testifies On Gun Control

Art Acevedo

Talk about a fox in the hen house. Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday. This was the first Judiciary Committee hearing on gun control in nearly eight years.

Acevedo called gun violence "one of our greatest public health epidemics." He told lawmakers to stop with the prayers and start passing gun laws.

But Acevedo wears a police uniform like a wolf in sheep's clothing. Acevedo doesn't stand up for his officers, criticizes the police union, and he has a long history of supporting radical anti-gun activists. In fact, the little known fact is that he serves on the advisory board of Everytown.org, an umbrella organzation funded by ultra-liberal Michael Bloomberg that includes Moms Demand Against Gun Sense and Mayors Against Illegal Guns, both of which are gun control activist groups.
