Houston Deputy Constable Shot Six Times in Ambush

Law enforcement officials are reporting that a deputy constable in Houston was shot six times in an ambush attack. The officer was standing outside his police car in front of a convenience store where he was parked when the attack took place.
The officer, who was struck in the back and side, was expected to survive, said Pamela Greenwood, a spokeswoman for the Harris County precinct seven constable's office
He was likely wearing a bulletproof vest, a requirement for on-duty deputies, she said.
Houston police are still searching for the perpetrator.
