Army Reverses Decision to Expel Green Beret for Punching Afghan Child Rapist

Decorated war hero Sergeant First Class Charles Martland has been facing expulsion from the U.S. Army since 2011 when he was disciplined over physically assaulting an Afghan police officer he had trained who was bragging about raping a young boy chained to a bed. The Army ordered Martland to be involuntarily discharged from service despite his desire to return to the battlefield.

Now, Jay Sekulow's American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ) has announced that the Army has reversed its decision:

The decision by the Army to retain this hero is long overdue and represents a significant victory for SFC Martland. Justice has been served. The U.S. military has a moral obligation to stop child sexual abuse and exonerate SFC Martland for defending a child from rape. The Army finally took the corrective action needed and this is not only a victory for SFC Martland, but for the American people as well.
